Ulsaaha Committee: A Below Average Movie.


After 'Bharya Atra Poraa', Jayaram-Akku Akbar team is back with their next flick 'Ulsaaha Committee'. Movie is produced by Arun Gosh and Bijoy Chandran under the banner of Chand V Creations. The makers of this movie claims that Ulsaaha Committee will be a mass entertainer for the viewers. But for me, movie is just a below average entertainer.


Synopsis: Apoorvan, Chopra, and Babumon are very close friends. Even though Apoorvan has studied only upto class 7, he aims to become a famous scientist. He does many experiments also. But his experiments created lot of trouble for other people in their village. Because of one particular incident that happens in his village, Apoorvan and his gang ran away from their village and their journey ends at Rosemary's house. Rosemary is a middle aged woman and is very rich. The series of incidents thay happens after their arrival at Rosemary's house forms the rest of the movie.


In the making side, Direction by Akku Akbar was average. There is nothing special to mention about his direction. Ulsaaha Committe's story is done by Arun Gosh. Screenplay and dialogues are written by Shyju Anthikad. Shyju tried to include many comedies in the script. But only few got worked out and rest comedies are crap. First half was really annoying because almost all comedies contain non-veg dialogues and story lacks the flow. 2nd half was better when comparing with 1st half. But 2nd half is lengthy and movie's duration is more than 150 minutes. Some unnecessary scenes in 1st half could have been avoided. To be specific, movie took almost an hour to enter into the story. Music and Bgm are fine. Cinematography part was also handled well.


In the acting side, Jayaram essays the role of Apoorvan. He played his part safely. His character's slang is very much similar to that of Biju Menon's character in 'Ordinary' movie. Sheela played the role of Rosemary. She did an ok performance. Isha Talwar has less screen presence. Thank God!!! Only 2 or 3 dialogues were given for her character. I don't like her tight lipped performance. She looks cute but her expressions has still not improved. Kalabhavan Shajon and Baburaj played the roles of Babumon and Chopra respectively.


Overall, Ulsaaha Committee is just a below average flick which has nothing remarkable to offer. This is a one-time watchable flick for Jayaram fans. And those who loved 'Mayamohini' or 'Sringaravelan' might also like this movie. Sorry to say that I don't belong to that category.
