Will it be Rajini for Shankar's next?
Yesterday, there was a sudden outburst of reports claiming Shankar has signed Ajith for his next movie. The fans are now confused with so many conflicting reports since there were talks regarding Shankar in discussions with Rajni for making Enthiran-2. Here is what we uncovered based on information gathered from industry trackers.
So, what happened to Shankar and Rajinikanth project
to be co-produced by Eros and AGS ?
Shankar and Rajinikanth had series of discussions aboutmaking Enthiran-2 during middle of 2013. Rajini was satisfied with the story-line and decided to rope in AGS to discuss the financials and budget late last year.
Shankar reported to have asked for a budget of Rs.200 Crores to bring his vision on screen. Shocked by the numbers, AGS took a step back and felt this would be a huge risk to invest this project without really knowing the box office outcomes of "Kochadaiyaan" and "Ai". AGS countered back with Rs. 125 to 150 Crores which Shankar felt was not feasible given that cast and crew remunerations would take up most of that budget (Rajini - Rs. 45 Crores, Shankar - Rs. 20 Crores, AR Rahman -
Rs. 5 Crores and other cast and crew for Rs. 15 Crores). AGS and Shankar are reported to have gone cold after that meeting and they are expecting each other to yield and reduce the gap.
