Low Expectations

Watched the film with low expectations as I am not a big fan of B. Unnikrishnan movies……and also I had apprehensions regarding the presentation of “Heist” genre film in Mollywood……Adding to that, this project was delayed……All this did not auger well…..

Pleasant Surprise

However, Despite all my apprehensions,“Mr. Fraud” turned to be a decent movie experience for me!......The film was engaging from beginning to end and with no serious flaws….. The End result : another A Mohanlal Mass Entertainer after RBR……

1) The Mohanlal Factor

Everyone knows that Mohanlal is a one man Army, capable of carrying the whole film on his shoulders when it comes to mass movies….In the past he has pulled off many superhits soley on his charisma (Narasimham,Ravanaprabhu, Nadodi, Madampi……list is endless)……..The Great Advantage, Mr.Fraud has : A Vintage Mohanlal, playing to the gallery!.... The film is an out and out Mohanlal Show…..The film has enough Mohanlal Magic to lift the film from Average to Above Average Level…

For a change, Lalettan comes in salt & pepper hair style, which was really cool….The Screen presence of this actor is awesome…….Some people look good in photos, some in real life…..But, when it comes to screen presence, no one can match Lalettan….Mr.Fraud underlines that fact!....Fraud is tailor made for Mohanlal,who proves why he is regarded as the complete actor, excelling in style, mannerism,comic oneliners, action sequences, songs, mass scenes and what not!.....Special mention must be made about his commendable energy and commitment in two super fight sequences…..

2) Clever Scripting

The Success of a Super Star commercial Movie in Mollywood lies in the clever mixing of mass elements in right proportions in the script without interrupting the flow of the story line…..B.Unnikrishnan knows how to tell a story without testing the patience of the viewers…..In Fraud, the script writer I Unni has taken utmost care not to create a dull sequence….. It was not an easy task, bringing “heist” elements in local environment….It goes to his credit that he was able to incoporate the family elements well into the “heist” plot….That was a master stroke!.....It made sure that the film appeals both to family audience and fans ….The Sript is a perfect mix of family emotions, Thriller elements, Star Show, Action & Music


3) Good Making

This is where Unni deserves praise……..He has pulled off a decent , watchable Mohanlal Entertainer from not so great storyline….The film is technically brilliant…..The visuals are rich and a treat to the eyes…..The hiest operation scene and virtual screen scenes are well made….The Cinematography remains top notch…….The Director succeeded in maintaining consistent pace throughout the movie……He was ably assisted by Gopi Sundar, whose heavy BGM lifts even ordinary sequences into higher level…..The Choreography of dance and action sequence were goog….….The casting was also spot on with the actors giving the best….


4) Good Casting

The story of Mr.Fraud demanded shrewd casting ….The casting was impeccable……The characters involving the “heist” plot demanded powerful, convincing performances from the Actors…..And Vijay Babu, Manjari, and the villion delivered decent performances……Among actors, the performances Sidique, Saikumar and Miya stands out……


Rating……3.5/5 ( I liked it more than 7^th Day)

WOM : Above average (Watchable)

Verdict….Feel Good Mass Entertainer for all types of Viewers (Except hard core rival fans)
