Watched HOAY from calicut kairali.
Today 10 AM show. balcony was full. No idea about first class.

Roshan and Bobby Sanjay has executed a marketing strategy clearly. they have succeeded in bringing serialm watching ladies to theatres and gave them a slightly better product than their favourite serials. Script is packed with elements that are sure to woo housewives and most ladies in general. Other than that HOAY will test the patience of a normal movie lover. They have succeeded in using the dileep-manju issue effectively. Movie's theme has been discussed in several movies in several versions.

First half of the movie is better compared to second half. Supporting casts were all superb. Kalaranjini's oneliners were good. It has to be said that Manju got a perfect role for her comeback. Also Roshan got the perfect person to don the role of Nirupama. Bothe parties are benefitted from this. This film would have created minimal impact if it were from different makers and main lead portrayed by some other actress. Current situation and the brand name roshan-bobby sanjay brought ladies to theatres and they will love watching manju playing a role similiar to their lives. This is where HOAY works and it ends there.

Somebody of the calibre of Bobby-Sanjay should not have done this film at this time. Atleast they should have found some other actress. It shows that even big names are after fame and are eager to get a hit under their belt at any cost. Performance wise Manju was good. She could show her charisma in one or two scenes. Actually the role didnt have enough to test an actor like Manju. Chackochan has delivered a powerful performance in his limited role. The licence issue dialogue with Manju s one of the highlight of the film. Before release I had heard roshan saying there is a special reason for casting Kunchacko opposite manju. I din get an answer to that after watching the movie. I seriously doubt whether this was one role which chackochan should have taken. Vinay fort, kunchan, lalu alex and the lady in the bus have all done their part well.

HOAY is at best a onetym watch. watch it if u want to see manju on screen again.
