Mammootty to play a villager in Kamal’s film
After a gap of eight years, megastar Mammootty and ace filmmaker Kamal are coming together for a project again. The last time we saw the duo teaming up was for the 2006-release, Karutha Pakshikal, which had won the National award for best family film of the year. The director says that the latest film belongs to the social satire genre.
"Mammootty plays a villager's character in the film and we are planning to start the shoot in August this year. The story is set in Kerala, and Trivandrum will be one of the main locations," says Kamal. V S Rafeeq will be scripting the film. The heroine and the rest of the cast have not been finalised yet, says the filmmaker.
Interestingly, while Kamal is making a film with Mammootty, the director's son and debutant filmmaker Jenuse Mohamed will soon kick-start his project with the megastar's son, Dulquer Salmaan!
Kamal and Mammootty have worked together in many memorable projects like Mazhayethum Munpe, Azhakiya Raavanan and Raapakal in the past. The director's latest release Nadan, starring Jayaram and Remya Nambeesan, was an average grosser at the box office."]
