Manglish - Review

Thudakkam okke kollaam...intro scene ile aa shot um bgm um one of his recent best intro thathu kayinj comedies angdu work out aayilla...mainly coz of that forced thread of enforcement 2 aalum nallonam bore aayittund, but on d other side Ikka and tini tom numbers wer good if not so great...chirikkaanukkathu und Interval inodu aduthu sambavangal ok aanelum narration too slow aayathu oru flaw aayi post intermission things got better and now comedies were working out well...English maashine eduthu panjikkidana scene okke "excuse me may I, %*¥€$$=&§ then there are few feel good portions involving our madhamma nallonam tempo increase aayi vanna padam needed just a good climax for a winner...but climax became mediocre and cliched...still not a bad one. Ellaarum koora ennu paranja last scene enik ishtaayi...but madhamma de oru dialog pora...but there was a feel coz of madhamma and her innocent relation with Ikka

Performances : Ikka super energy and did all justice to his character...Mammootty enna nadante commercial viability theernnu ennu paranju nadakkavanmaarkkulla best marupadi aanu ee character....character athra kidu ennathu kondalla...but he was giving gis best during the comedies and action scenes....!! All he need is a good write and director.

Madhamma...enthaa parayukaa...oru Malayalam padathil vannu ingane natural aayi abinayicha foreign artists ne eduthu nokkiyaal she would rank d top ones...no where goes out of her boundaries and thus becames one of the biggest positives of Manglish Tini tom entertains...angerde chila numbers okke kidukkiyittund...2 kili poi Srinda...kochi kaariyaayi ivale pole natural aayi cheyyaan ini vere aale kittilla...was super cool as Ikka's dear sister...2 perum thammilulla relation entho oru rasam baaki teams okke good aanu but few looked forced...for eg: aa camera pakarthi nadakanavan..

Story-screenplay : puthiya payyan aaneelum enthokkeyo avan ready aakiyittund...u have to admit dat writing and entertainer is more tough nowadays for a debutant and thats why most are behind thrillers, where they can copy from sum foreign films...Ikka-madhamma relation ikka-sister ones and his love/hate stand with his ex-wife....all these sub-plots are written well but needed a good director to convey all this to a desired level. Yes there are flaws too in script...aa enforcement track thanne ettavum valiya mistake...ivarkku pakaram vella suraj um salim kumar um aayirunnel kayyeennu kore number ittu comedy kondu vannene imo. Pinne ulla writing flaw ennu paranjaal villain characters aanu...ikka de character nu build up kodukkumbo villainmaarem athinanusarich valarthanam... finally oru formula okke vechu nokkumbo athyvsham ingredients okke und padathil...i repeat "aghyavsham". But where manglish fails is the mediocre direction of Salam Bappu. There were many scenes wich could have been elevated the mass impact...for eg saaippinodulla aa fight scene il ayaalde koode oru 4-5 shinkidikalem chuttum naatu kaarem okke kootti polipichirunnel athokke kinnan scenes aayene but ithu Ikka parayana pole "tharathi poi kaliyeda" ennu nammalum paranju pokum athe pole chiri varuthenda comedy scenes polum iyaal fail aayi tho there wer scope for many laughs oru Shafi okke aayirunnel ithu easy aayi Superhit level il pokendathaayirunnu... (best eg is last years Onam superhit pullipulli whose script was too poor, even below this..but the director in Lal Jose covered it to an extent which was evident while watching it) Overall Manglish is never a bad film and I wont agree on that...it manages to become an okay entertiner and would have been got a better verdict if the climax itself was executed well. Puthiya writers inodu oru request : Oru debut work cheyyumbo onnillel extraordinary script ready aakkuka otherwise u look for an established director who can elevate your thoughts against its shortcomings, especially the commercial ones. Riyas who could have been made a decent debut fails coz of his bad choice of director (evn tho flaws are there, but wich were manageable to a great extent)
