Madhav Ramadasan after Melvilasom.. Don't think any other explanation needed for high expectations on this movie. Adding to it a big star cast including Suresh Gopi, Jayasurya, Asif Ali, Abhirami, Meera Nandan, Indrans, Neeraj, Kavitha.. Has the director succeeded in living up to the expectations?

Answer is a big YES.

Yes, Madhav Ramadasan is here to stay.

Apothecary has got it's big positives and small negatives.

The first half of movie is simply brilliant. It's a package of emotional elements which made my eyes full 3 or 4 times. Performances add to the whole charm to this half. Though the pace in this half is slow, the performances of lead cast leaves us with no scope of boredom.

The second half though with less charm than earlier half, is impressive too. Felt some editing problems here and there and some dramatic sequences making the plot a bit lagging. Still, the director is capable of delivering a good half here too. And the film ends up with a good climax conveying a socially relevant message to the prevailing system in many hospitals, where patients are considered just as commodities.

The whole movie is executed against the backdrop of a hospital (Well, Melvilasom was no different with the Army court backdrop). And without much lagging moments with such a plot, I must say Madhav Ramadasan is a director, whom we can rely on.

Visuals of the movie by Hari Nair is good. Music by Sheikh Ellahi suits well to the emotions. Dialogues in the movie are penned well and creates a big impact on viewers.

The best thing in the movie without doubt is the performance by lead actors. Be it Jayasurya, Suresh Gopi, Asif, Abhirami, Kavitha, Indrans, Neeraj, Meera or any other, everyone has given out their career best performance.

Apothecary by all means is a movie you can't afford to miss. Do watch it in theatres and support such good talents. A big salute to the doctors who funded this to make it happen.

NB: Maybe this movie will get washed out by next week. Maybe this movie won't get into the hitchart. Whatever the fate is, make sure you don't get a chance to regret the decision of not watching this movie in theatres.
