Mammukka again with a newcomer.... But still this movie had lot of expectations because of one prime reason - Mam in a Mass avatar and heard Ajai Vasudev is an expert in Mass scenes. So did it meet those expectations - A BIG YES.....


This movie has no particular story or no twists or turns... All goes in an expected way but in a Mass very rarely seen in Malayalam. Probabaly first time after Pokkiriraja. The film starts of with Joju intro in a bus and he coming to meet his cousin sister and husband. Cousin sister is Rai Lakshmi and husband our Raja. Follows onto a sudden and simple intro of Mam in his kid's school. The first half mostly focusses on the family life of Raja and the way he gets into trouble due to some happenings in his Petrol Pump. The senti scenes along with the Police episode have worked out real well. Then Sekharankutty takes his family to his native and returns to ensure his family is allowed to live safely. On his way back - My God. One of the most well taken Mass Scenes Malayalam movies have seen. With helicam shots how Sekharankutties car gets sorrounded etc etc.... And the changeover... In spite of being in Multiplex theatre ilaki marinju.... Then comes interval. Has to see it in a Single Screen theatre.


Then to the 2nd half where Mam tells his flash back to Joju. The whole Bombay episode. This is the only small kallukadi in the whole proceedings. They could have made it real short. Did not like Mam's get up also in that flash back. Anyway after that the movie gets into the hero - villain game and heroes attempts to save his family and friends. As I told before nothing major to tell as a story here. Pure mass takings and visual impacts. In between some real cool scenes with Mam in talks with villains and all. Ends with a good mass climax fight. For a change climax fight is not in a godown and is in a club.


Summary - A good Mass Masala movie with very rarely seen Action scenes.


Positives
Ajai Vasudev - Kidu making
Siby - Uday - From no story nothing they have made a movie which does not make you feel bored.
Joju - Comedies okke nallonam work out aayittondu. His career best role.
Mamukka - What to tell man. His charisma and his sound in the theatre.. Maan... The bass in his sound... Sakthiman-inu polum aa pourushathinu munnil pidichu nikkaan pattilla.... If you saw Mam the actor in Munnariyippu here you see Mam the star... Hats off to this man...


Negatives
Bombay episode could have been made little short
Story vendavarkku anganonnu undennu thonnunnilla...
Athra colorful onnumalla like present day entertainers.. But that will not suit the mood of the movie also...


Crowd Response
Interval kidu response. Idacku mass scenes nalla response. At the end claps and angingu kurachu koovalum ondu. That is expected for this kind of movie. Action scenes kaanumbol ingane manushyanmaarkku idickaan pattumo ennu chodhickunna teams aanu...


Rating - 3.5 / 5 (Will get what you expect.)


Vaalkashanam - As usual Siby Uday padangal hate cheyunnavaro, reality cinemayude vaakthaakkalo, kadha undenkile cinema ishtappedu ennullavaro, colorful entertainers maathrame ishtappedollu ennullavaro onnum aa baagathotte pokenda... But if you like films with Mass actions go for it...
