Review : Rajadhiraja

First of all these "masala" action films are not my genre but even then Raajamanikkyam,T20, Ghajini,Thuppakki,Gilli etc are among my favorites. Now coming to this film , there are a lot of heroic stuffs and all which is nice considering our dear Mammookka is the hero. You can forgive them for not having an "original" story but they'd have a better,entertaining screenplay with more humor(Chattambinadu is a good example).

Instead the film has some weird stuffs like a district collector leads an encounter with some "international terrorists", underworld criminals who were arrested in severe anti-national activities walk free after jail term without any restrictions(like they got arrested in stabbing a person), the so called underworld "DON"-who clearly knows he is targeted- travels alone or a professional killer who choose to kill a VVIP by a sniper gun in the night when its obvious that a close combat technique is more suitable. All these happens in the second half which is clearly the weaker half.

Apart from Mammookka, Joju Varghese is very impressive.Some of his one liners in the film are really funny,like in the old UK-SKT films. Cast also includes Lakshi Rai,Siddique,Babu Namboothiri(any typical role),Lena,Nelson,Joy Mathew,some north Indian actors whose names I don't know. Bheeman Raghu,Abu Salim and Mukesh Khanna-its good to see you guys again.Tania Stanley and Unni Mukundan had cameo appearance. Unfortunately Shamna covered ~70% of her body during that item song.

First song by Berny Ignatious was nice.Editing could have been better. And during the flashback scenes Mammootty didn't look any different/younger.George should have taken care of that.

This film will be a hit i think and it seems Mammookka recent rough patch is slowly getting over(Manglish,Munnariyippu) and Varsham seems to be very promising.
