status: 100% friday 19th

after 5 long years, came PK, the reunion of ' 3 idiots ' team. The expectations were sky high for the movie. And after watching, I feel it has done partial justice to the expectations. For any other director/ actor combo, i would have given 4/5 for this movie, but we expect heaven from AK-RHK team, so my rating will be 3.5 for this movie.

Story:
the story is about the alien played by aamir khan who comes to earth from another planet. on arriving on earth, a person steals his valuable possesion which will help him to go back to his planet. the story is about his journey to get it back, and on his way, he learns about the people who live here, their customs, etc. and how all logic goes out when religion comes into picture. the movie takes a dig at godman. the story is narrated by Jaggu ( played by Anushka Sharma) who has a love failure when she was studying in belgium. She is now in delhi, working for a channel run by Boman Irani. she finds aamir one day and get fascinated by his behavior and antics and befriends him to do a story for her channel. The rest of story follows how she helps aamir and along the way, how aamir takes a dig at godmen. the movie has a rollicking first half with some genuine humour, second half lags in between but has a great ending with a big suspense guest role in the end.

Positives:
Aamir Khan ... was the real star.. has done a fabulous job
Anushka Sharma and other supporting cast
great first half
comedies.
Ending with that rocking guest role that took everyone by surprise.

negatives:
some lag in second half
music

but overall, i must a must watch. In an era where directors/ actors make sub-standard masalas to ensure big opening, here comes a duo that still believes in story telling.
in a year filled with diappointing bollywood movies, this comes at the right time.. go and have fun...



Cousins Review:

status: 70%

cousins, helmed by vysakh, where he is back to his masala style after a hiatus in vishuddan. The movie follows the pattern of seniors to an extent, but defies logic at most parts and ends up as an below average affair. We expect from good entertainment throughout but here, it is far and few.

The story is about four cousins played by Indrajith, kunchacko Boban, Suraj and Jojo. One of them, kunchako boban suffers a memory problem where he suddenly goes back to his old memories and forgot events in his past life. So in order to get his memory back, the cousins undertake a journey to help him get back his memory. the film lacks genuine comedy and fun element. The comedies are far and few. The cousins after some incident encounters with some people who beats Kunchacko. later they are taken in to the palace of Pradeep rawat and questions them about their missing sister played by Vedhika. So the cousins realise that kunchacko Boban has a past story there and decides to find out with the help of Nisha Agarwal who was Kunchackos friend in college. the rest of story is how kunchacko gets back his memory. there are some twist but those doesnot impress at all.

colourful movie
beautiful heroines.

negatives:
ordinary acting by all lead actors.
weak script
lack of genuine entertainment elements
music not good ( cricket wc 2003 music was copied as bgm)
vysakh mass elements missing

overall, the movie disappoints.
