I - Review..!!

vetturoad harisree. yesterday 9.30pm show.. hf

angane the most expected movie of recent times kandu.. first half starting nannayirunnu.. but pineed angottu lag aaavan thudangi.. china portions okke kurachu adhikam valichu neeti just to show off the beautiful locations.. so once the interval arrives you have a pretty average feeling.. yes there are the shankar style songs, fights and visuals but other than that nothing happens..

the second half begins on a dull note but picks up once the koonan takes up center stage.. more than thrills there is an emotional connect with the character.. but as the climax reaches again there is a dullness and ends up as a pretty ordinary climax.. the climax sequences makes u feel that it was just to show off WETA's makeup skills... usually shankar films has climaxes that end with a bang.. but that is missing here..

its a vikram show all the way.. hats off... its the koonan character that makes you root for this movie.. unbelivable dedication and hardwork from him to pull of such a character.. dont think no one else can pull this off.. but with all due to respect to vikram was such suffering needed when CG today is so much advanced..

amy fits the models role.. dubbing was good most of the times.. sg did his role well..

songs by ARR is good especially mersalayitten and ennodu nee irundhal..but not upto ARR-Shankar previous albums.. BGM is ok.. all the songs have been shot brilliantly and a lot of creativity is gonna into it.. ennodu nee irunthal stands out in the movie as it is the only situational song and that really conveys the emotions of the characters..

cinematography by pc sreeram is top notch.. the color tones used gives the right feel for the scenes..

art direction by muthuraj is again top class.. the set work done for the songs are amazing and give that grand feel..

fights by anl arasu is good esepcially the one in china and the gym fight..

Editing by antony is some what choppy in the first half as the story jumps between present and flashback.. with run time of around 3hr 9mins the movie feels like a long wait.. some 20-25 mins can be chopped off to make it more racy..

shankar's movies usually have this wow factor even if they are tried and tested storyline but that seems to be missing in I.. when it comes to vision and grandness nobody can match him and that can be seen thru out the movie.. santhanam and the powerstar antics doenst evoke any laughs..the love track with transgender was distasteful and they could have avoided some double meaning dialogues in the first half..

overall I is not bad a movie by any means but its just that we expected more from shankar.. watch it vikram sheer performance and shankar's grandness..
