ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അമേരിക്കയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മലയാളി ആണ്. കട്ട ഇക്ക ഫാനും ആണ്. 2 വർഷമായി പേരന്പ് എന്ന സിനിമ കാണാൻ കാത്തിരുന്ന ഒരു സിനിമാപ്രേമി. ഫെബ്രുവരിയിൽ ഈ സിനിമ ലോകമെമ്പാടും റിലീസ് ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ സന്തോഷം തോന്നി.. പക്ഷെ അമേരിക്കയിൽ ആകെ പതിനൊന്ന് സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ മാത്രം ആണ് റിലീസ് ചെയ്തത്. ഇവിടെ മിക്കവാറും തമിഴ് പടങ്ങളും മലയാളം പടങ്ങളും റിലീസ് ആവുന്ന സ്ഥലം ആണ്. പക്ഷെ ഈ സിനിമ ഇവിടെ റിലീസ് ആയില്ല. ഇവിടെയും, ലോസ് ആഞ്ചലസ്* പോലെ മലയാളികളും തമിഴരും ഒരുപാടുള്ള ഉള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നും തന്നെ റിലീസ് ചെയ്തില്ല. ഡിസ്ട്രിബിയൂറ്ററോട് ചോദിച്ചപ്പോ.. പറഞ്ഞത് അത് കളിക്കുന്നത് റിസ്ക് ആണെന്ന്. പക്ഷെ ഒന്ന് പറയട്ടെ.. മറ്റു പല സിനിമകൾക്കും നമ്മൾ 2~3 പേര് മാത്രം ഇരുന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അപ്പോൾ ഇത്രെയും നല്ല റിവ്യൂവും മറ്റും വന്നിട്ടും കൂടുതൽ സെൻററിൽ റിലീസ് ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കാനുള്ള സാഹചര്യം എന്താണെന്ന് ഊഹിക്കാവുന്നതേ ഉള്ളു. എന്തായലും ഉടൻ തന്നെ ഈ ചിത്രം ആമസോണിൽ വരുമെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞതിൽ അതിയായ സന്തോഷം. അത് ബ്ലോക്ക് ചെയ്യാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിയില്ലല

Very True. I live in LA and I frequently followed up with the distributor for releasing Peranbu in LA. But they didn't. Many of my friends and family at LA was waiting for the movie. Since there was no other option I drove to San Jose which is the nearest releasing center for me (1000 kms up and down) to watch the movie. I didn't regret in taking such an attempt to watch Peranbu...I feel it was worth that drive...I don't want to wait to watch on TV(when Mammootty has given such a great performance) :)

The distributors even bring worst movies like Balan Vakkel and ignored Peranbu

ഇത്രയും ദൂരം drive ചെയ്ത് പടം കണ്ടതിനു ഇരിക്കട്ടെ ഒരു കുതിര പവൻ, overseas മൊത്തത്തിൽ distribution മോശം തന്നെ, ജിസിസി ആണ് കുറച്ചെങ്കിലും നല്ല release കിട്ടിയത്.
