Fireman : A Good Effort Indeed!!!

Dark Horse Strikes
After hope lessley bad movies like Crazy Gopalan, Deepu karunakaran makes a great come back with "fireman"......He has hit the bulles eye this time with a neat,soulful mission movie, rarely attempted in mollywood!......HATS OFF to him for trying something fresh within the restraints of commercial movie in Malayalam!.....May this trigger his creative mind to come up with novel thoughts in future!


Unique Rescue Mission
Rescue missions have been part of Malayalam cinema like dowthyam, moonam mura, malootty etc......BUT, all these movies except malootty, traditionally focussed on saving one or few hostages from THE clutches of bad boys.......However fireman takes a bold, different route......a Tanker lorry, leaking gas becomes a threat to the lives of thousands of people in town......an unprecedented mission to be carried out!.....More importantly, the mission leader has to do it without resorting to guns and muscles!.....This novelty makes fireman a unique mission movie, attempted first time in Malayalam!......

The Leader Unparalleled
Mammootty has always excelled in macho Leader in command type of roles as in king,Balram,CBI,M90 days etc.....Therexcept, it's no surprise that he made a powerful impression as mission leader, Vijay with crisp body language, superb dialogue delivery!......Taking into consideration , IT was really COOL!

Half-Baked Script
Though the script is written reasonably well, I felt, writer wasted some golden opportunities to make it a real edge-of-The seat-Thrilller by trimming the build up (first 30 minutes) and developing the conspiracy part!.....salim Kumar episode could have been made more convincingl!....Nevertheless, it was engaging!

Technical Perfection???
This movie demanded the direction of a good craftsman with technical brilliance!.....FOR example, In the scene of explosion (first half), the build up was terrific......we feel real tension!.....BUT when it explodes, poor graphics takes the punch offf and making fire-operation boring!....Vinayan could have done better!.....Amal Neerad or Roshan Andrews would have made a huge difference!......

Final Words
Fireman offers a very decent movie watch, devoid of crass comedies,moral preachings,super hero rubbish, painkili songs......so and so boring stuff!.........THE A Watchable Movie....PAISA VASOOL......
