Oru mixed expectation aayittaanu padathinu kayariyadhu. Positive expectation mainly because of RBR combo and script writer. Negative expectation because of recent Joshiy movies.


Padam starts with marriage of Jai and Anjali with Jai missing and turing up right on time. First half focusses mainly on the build up of relationship between Jai and Anjali. It is a mixed bag with being good at times and not so good at times. Endhaayaalum romance and intimacy between Jai and Anjali kooval vaangaan nalla scope ulladhaanenkilum adhu kuzhappamillaadhe cheyidhittondu. They have mixed the romance with office and some humour which has succeeded to some extent even though not great. Overall I felt an okay first half with nothing exceptional but avoided kooval to a great extent for the intimacy scene.


The expectation on the film is that 1st half will be a build up of the relationship and 2nd half will be his wife getting into trouble and he saving her from the trouble with an action packed 2nd half. 1st half did some justice to this expectation. But 2nd half is horrible. It went somewhere which does not do any justice to the tag line of the movie. 2nd half focusses on the anti terrorist operation but lacks the much needed thrill throughout. In between the horrible Laila making episode. And then as usual lot of cliches like cutting the red wire of the bomb and saving target etc etc.... 2nd half takes the movie from an average one to below average. Overall an unsahickable 2nd half with horrible climax.


Summary - A movie which seriously lacks the most important thing we expect from this movie - An action packed 2nd half.


Positives
Mohanlal - In 1st half during the romantic and intimate scenes.
1st half.


Negatives
Mohanlal - Significantly lacks the energy and smart looks required in the other shade of the character.
Amala - Artificial almost throughout the movie.
