If Selfie was more of a team entertainment by Nivin, Aju etc, this was a complete one man show by Nivin. He just rocked the screen in 3 getups and especially the 2nd get up. In a nutshell Premam is about different Love Stories in 3 different time periods. And that is the secret behind the huge success of this movie. The first love story will be nostalgic for people in my age group, 2nd will be nostalgic for people in the age group little more younger than me and the 3rd one is a modern love story. So all in all it addresses well the people from current school goers to probably 4o to 50 yrs old group. That shows up well in the audience also.


The first half starts of with a school aged love story of the hero in the old love letter days, no mobiles, only land lines proposal from a telephone booth etc etc. Really nostalgic for people in the late 30s and early 40s


Where that love story ends comes the 2nd get up which reminds you of the 1990s college days and environment of violence etc. Maharaja's college polathe college environment okke serickum orthu pokum. Well taken in UC College premises. Pinne Nivin's intro and get up also kidu. Lot of scope for improvement though in the Mass get up. Pinne payyan alle he has lot of time to improve. 2nd story-ile heroine is the best among the lot. Lead pair chemistry has also worked out very well. This is the longest story in the movie and the story with the most impact. Mass scenes kurachu koode okke kalippaakaamaayirunnu. Pinne aa college dance okke kidilam aakaamaayirunnu. The situation and song had all in it for a superb dance sequence. Heroine-inte kurachu steps ozhichaal baakiyokke valare simple steps aayi poyi which ended up as an average dance performance. Angane 2nd love story also adhinte avasaanathil ethum. Valare touching aakendadhaanelum athrackangu touching onnum alla. But still very good.


Pinne 3rd story angane padhukke thudangunnu. Shortest among the three. That also overall very good and ends up in a good climax. The much awaited song of Aval Vendra Ival Vendra comes in this part of the movie. New age love story aayadhu kondu thanne intensity, violence okke kuravaanu.


Summary - A movie which works out very well in invoking the nostalgy of school - college days in the big age group of people and at the same time invokes lot of interest in the current youth.


Positives
Alphonse - It is an out and out director's movie. A movie which entertains us throughout even with a very thin story line.
Outstanding script also.
Nivin - Of course he rocks the screen with his one man show and being present in almost all the screens. 2nd get up is the best among the lot.


Negatives
Lack of intensity in the climax of 2nd love story.
A dance performance which could have been extra ordinary became just average except for the excellent intro of heroine's dance steps.


Crowd Response
Excellent. People were just laughing out to glory for most of the scenes.
