As a movie buff you would expect a comic craper when you see kunchacko boban and biju menon in the starcast, but this time your expectations are spoiled for good.
The start of the movie itself gives you a hint that you are in for something intense, which builds up gradually into the plot of the movie.Life far away from homeland is shown with due respect, the comic elements are subtle in the first half of the movie which blends into the harsh realities of life. The interval scene evokes the most laughs.
Second half goes on unraveling the story rather in a predictable manner without any major twists or turns, which then finally bulids up to the climax. The climax is rather expected and does not offer anything new for the viewer.
As far as the performances are concerned, kunchacko boban is at his versatile best, being ably supported by biju menon and neeraj madhav. The female lead parvathy ratheesh is a revelation to say the least, with her eyes being the USP , even though the dubbing artist has helped a lot on the impact of her character.
Sugeeth has neatly presented the story, well supported by the camera work and has succeeded in portraying the life of gulf malayalees.Music by sachin - sreejith has to be one of the highlights of the movie.
The only negative has to be the lag you experience in certain parts of first half, when the story
takes it's own time to develop, little bit of crisp editing might have helped here.
Finally for people who love anecdotes, this is one such which portrays life in all it's myriad forms and succeeds in pulling at your heart strings.
Verdict: Sleeper hit
Rating: 3.25/5.
