"Urumpukal Urangarilla" is decent

The film's title is in reference to the thieves who like ants never sleeps(almost).

Even though film starts with Innocent,Ananya,Vanitha,Aju Varghese and National Award winner Muhammed Mustafa, it comes to life only after the introduction of Chemban Vinod Jose . Pullikkarante intro kayyadi usually DQ or Nivinu mathrame kelkkarollu. But anyways he was just brilliant with his typical dialogue delivery and one liners . He plays the role of a petty thief Benny who is training the rookie guy Manoj(Vinay Fort) after a strong recommendation from his guru( Sudheer Karamana) . As you can guess those scenes are hilarious and this what the film is till the interval.

Post interval film turns dramatic and humor dries up and hence the scenes are not that interesting. Plus there some sub-plots and all of which make some sense in the climax. But its not that impressive as the first half but not terrible either.

Among the actors, Aju Varghese was wasted and Vinay Fort plays a prominent role in the second half. Cast also includes Thesni Khan,Pradeep Kottayam and an impressive cameo by Shajon.

In tech department, i liked the cinematographer's work, especially the night scenes. Also there are some long shots. Good work. But even though BGM was in sync with film, towards the end there were lots of electric guitars and percussion which i thought was distracting. Songs were simply bad.

I dunno about this Jiju Asokan guy who is both the writer and director but still a decent attempt. Thought there should be bit more humour in the second half which would have done wonders since the climax portions were also good.

Overall, the film had a really enjoyable first half and but an okayish second half. But still it ends well though.
