Life of Josutty Review - An Average stuff from Jeethu and Dileep

Went for the movie with limited expectations and the movie turned out in similar lines. In terms of entertainment value, it was not up to My Boss, movie which I enjoyed a lot personally. This movie was more of a realistic narration.

Story:

The movie starts from the childhood of Josutty. He wanted to become a priest but Jessy played by rachana comes in to his life and soon josutty and jessy falls in love. So there he quits the dream of becoming a priest. Soon, their parents comes to know about it. Jessy's father starts searching for groom. Josutty successfully tries to stop some alliances from happening but finally Jessy gets married to another fellow. At this juncture, he gets an alliance from a divorced Newzealand based nurse Rose, played by Jyoti. They get married and josutty moves to Newzealand by interval point. First half has some good comedies and was pretty good. But my personal favorite was the priest dialogue. " Kanyakamarude kaalam kazhinju josutty". Josutty is shown as someone who lives by the principles of his father and is very close to him.

Second half starts well with Josutty moving to Newzealand, his struggles to adjust there, to get the love of his wife. soon a twist happens and they both split. The rest of the movie tries to show how josutty tries to change from an innocent villager to someone behind money who doesnt even bother to go back to his homeland or attend calls from his parents and relatives. The films drags after a certain portion but ends with a feel good climax with a cute guest apperance which helped the film to become an average/above average stuff.

Verdict:

The film had its moments but from Jeethu we expect something more. The main positives were Dileep, who lived as the character, harish Pisharedy as his father, some good comedies ( still non-veg comedies could have been avoided) and a feel good end. Special mention to cinematography which was excellent.

Negatives:
second half was not entertaining. there was serious dragging till climax. The movie could have been trimmed by 15 minutes.

The element of fantasy involving two angels did not make any significant impact in the movie. That was unnecessary.

Confusing nature of Josutty. It was hard to believe that he did not even thought of going to kerala for 8-9 years and the script writer was not able to justify it.

rating: 2.9/5....

verdict: average- above average..

Jeethu sir, hopefully u will deliver another thriller movie with your own script soon.
