Yet another movie that comes with an even more fresher air for our malayalam cinema to breathe. Charlie is sweet, simple, soothing and sublime all the way throughout the entire runtime of 2 hours and 10 minutes. A feel good movie worth every penny spent.
Charlie is all about a young girl’s journey to discover more, more and even more about the lead guy. Only in the penultimate scene, you come to know about his name and other details. Still the adventurous journey with the quests, answers, flash backs and explanations is more than engaging right from the beginning of the movie till the very end.
Among the lot many highlights, what stands out the most is Jomon T John’s cinematography once again. This man really has some magical touch to showcase scenic locations with even more beauty. In Charlie, he is in top form like never before. That coupled with Unni R’s excellent scripting, Martin’s better direction and top notch performances from all the actors, small or big makes this one another worthy entrant to the 2015’s quality film list.
Almost all the actors have got some something to perform and there is no one who leaves without making a mark. Among those Dulquer, Parvathy, Nedumudi Venu and Aparna are the ones with the most scope. Dulquer is refreshingly different this time, there are no painkili scenes or dialogues for him, and he really makes an impact with his amazing screen presence.
On the whole, Charlie is an amazingly crafted entertainer with all the necessary ingredients for a perfect feel good movie to relish in this Christmas season.
