Even though the movie had lot of hype around it, was not too excited seeing the trailer and hearing the songs. But the reviews which came in FK in the morning gave some hope and that hope turned correct after seeing the movie.


Charlie is a movie about two like minded people who loves to lead a care free life, loves to roam around like a free bird. Storywise that is the main plot of the movie. There are several sub plots that comes up throughout the movie which shows different episodes of life of Charlie the free bird. Some of these sub plots really touches our heart and some brings out smile in our faces. Through these sub plots the character of Charlie as a free bird, do-gooder is established. Tessa who again loves to lead a free bird life gets attracted to the story of Charlie and goes out in search to meet Charlie. That forms the crux of the story. Script writer has been able to interleave this search for Charlie and Charlies life episoded very well that viewers does not feel bored at all. 1st half is excellent and 2nd half is good with a very good climax.


Nothing more to say. The greatest success of this movie has been that the makers has been able to make viewers feel about Charlie and also the sub plots in which Charlie plays a crucial role. Kalpana sub plot is the one which I liked the most.


Dulquer establishes himself as an actor with this role. It is just not a casual easy role usually handled by youth stars. Parvathi again leaves us spell bound with her performance. A great freak lead pair.


Positives
Dulquer - Amazing performance. Easily his career best performance and probably one of the best performance from any youth star.
Parvathi - Again amazing performance.
Script - Unni R. Very Good.
DOP and Direction - Excellent. Beauty of Kochi, Wagamon (Hope that is where high range scenes are shot) is well captured in the movie.
BGM - Again excellent which is quite successfull in making viewers feel for the character.


Negatives
Might dissappoint some section of audience who expects a mass movie or a youthful entertainer like Selfie, Premam and all.

Crowd Response - I went with my extended family. Everybody liked the movie irrespective of the age.


Summary - An excellent feel good movie which touches your heart at times and makes you smile at times.


Rating - 4 / 5


Vaalkashanam - After a long time seeing a youth movie which gets into some real emotions and does not rely upon failure in the exams / going behind a lady to make us smile.
