'Puthiya Niyamam' is 'pazhaya Veenju'

Saw the movie from calicut Kairali on 5th March 9pm show.
Status: Balconiyil kurachu families undayirunnu..First class okke shokam...

Puthiya Niyamam could be mammotty's attempt to do another Drishyam. But the fim ends flat due to the lethargic approach from writer director and editor. Film heavily depends on the climax twist and the attempt to make the film engaging till climax lacks genuineness. Film boasts of a story which has been repeated time and again in many films and the way it has been conceived is as if we are living in 1990s. Script in second half is too amateurish and this has to be A K Sajan's one of the bad script. Had that climax twist was not there film would have ended up as another "Acha Din'.

Performance wise it is Mammotty who comes in as the saving grace. his witty oneliners is the only thing that lifts the movie from boredom. Worst casting would be that of Sheelu Abraham's. She has failed miserably as an actor. Considering the importance of that character in the film, director should have gone for a better experienced option. The way the cruel villains are forced to do wot they had to is a real disaster to watch. If they were such good people, they wouldn't have resorted to such cruel acts initially. Oly thing I could say is that they have spoiled something which could have been used effectively by some other film maker. yeah I'm referring to the cute little thing they have used in climax.

overall film seemed to be one which was made by A K Sajan to see his own name on the screen!!
