Pep Guardiola claims he does not understand English rules in spikey post-match interview after Manchester City's win over Burnley

    Interview to Sky Sports

Interviewer: Well Pep, your thoughts on the game.
Pep Guardiola: We won. We are so happy.

I: Would you like to expand a little bit more?
    PG: No. No. Thats enough.

I: It was an emotive day, wasnt it? For the players, for the fans, for the manager as well.
    PG: Yeah. Happy new year.

I: Expand upon that. Tell me first about the red card what was your thoughts on the red card?
PG: You are the journalist. You can see it and you can explain it.

I: I dont get paid to explain it. I get paid to ask you.
PG: Me too, me neither. I get paid to explain about the games, not the red cards and so on.

I: How did that change your thinking as a manager?
    PG: About what?

I: How did having to play with 10 players change your thinking in the game?
PG: We played an amazing second half.

I: How did you change your tactics, given the fact that you were a player down?
PG: From 4-4-1 we played 4-3-2. We have played with 10 men against 11 in a lot of circumstances.

I: You made two changes at half-time, when did you decide you were going to make those changes?
PG: After the red card for Fernandinho.

I: Was it a mistake not to play Aguero and Silva from the start, to make so many changes?
PG (majorly sarcastic): Yeah for sure. It was a mistake yeah. I did a big mistake. You are absolutely right.

I: But you turned it around by making a change
    PG: I am intelligent.

I: How did you enjoy it today, seems like it has been an emotive day for you?
PG: Happy new year. We won. We are so happy.

    Interview to BBC

Interviewer: You won it, you won it the hard way
    Pep Guardiola: Yeah, thats true.

I: What was your verdict on the game and the performance, because you showed real spirit after going down to 10 men?
PG: Yeah, thats true. We won against a lot of circumstances and after a tough game, so we are happy for that.

I: The sending off, what was your view of the red card for Fernandinho?
PG: You are the journalist, not me.

I: Youre the manager, Im sure the fans will want to know.
PG: Ask the referee, not me.

I: Are you concerned that thats his third red card this season? Is there a discipline problem with him?
PG: Well accept (it). Like I said before, the team with more ball possession will always have more sending offs I have to understand the rules in England. I know you are special but I have to understand it.

I: So the interpretation is perhaps different in England?
PG: Of course, yes. And all around the world our keeper in the box is fouled, here (he is) not. I have to understand that.

I: It is a win for
PG (interrupting): Its his fault, Claudio Bravo.

    I: His fault?
PG: His fault yeah. (I think he actually meant fouled). And all around the world, here (it is) not. I have to understand that.

I: You dont seem that happy that youve won
PG: More than you believe. More than you believe, I am happy.

    I: You arent showing it
PG: I am so happy. I am so happy, believe me. Happy new year.

I: Are Manchester City still in the title race?
PG: Yesterday no. Why today are we in the title race?

    I: Thanks Pep.
    PG: My pleasure.

that goal is debatable. bravo was pushed to the ground. bit of pushing and jostling. any referee would have blown the whistle.

Rather than the League , it's the media . It's too difficult to handle British Media ...they didn't like loaning England National team GK abroad ....so they jump at each and every opportunity vs Bravo ....Pep s very much frustrated about this

    Sunderland 2-2 Liverpool
Lost points from winning position again. No wonder Jurgen Klopp was one frustrated manager after the game. 2 penalties against us but ref missed a clear pen on Clyne before that. Having said that Sunderland should have had 3rd pen for Can's hand ball. So it could so easily have been much worse. Liverpool clearly missed Henderson's discipline. But just take it on the chin and move on.Its turning out to be one tight season for CL places, with Man Utd also clearly in the mix. How big is Utd Vs Liverpool next game week..
away beyond the worldly rules of right and wrong, there is a field; I will meet you there

And Bravo is providing enough ammunition for his criticizers every week
