Kasaba - A Mammootty Entertainer :)

Nothing much of a story based movie, more of a performance oriented....The film revolves around three characters; Rajan Zachariah (Mammootty) a witty disobedient police officer, Kamala (Varalaxmi) a local women lead who owns a slut-house, and Parameshwaran Nambiar (Sampath) a political leader who is also dreaded. These three characters come to an equilibrium when a murder case was assigned to Rajan Zachariah.

When we come to performance, Mammookka steals the show as Rajan Zachariah with his unique mannerisms and witty punch dialogues. That walk was so pleasant to watch, but could have used it in more scenes. The fight scene in Bhavani Bar is one of the well executed fight scenes ever came in Mollywood, also would like to add in the list of best fight scenes of Mammootty. Nothing extraordinary from Sampath and Varalaxmi...usual negative roles with some uniqueness, may be because of the story setting. Jagadhish impressed a lot with his natural acting as Sub-Inspector Mukundan...evoked laughter with his expressions ...a great comeback.
A signature was missing from Nithin Renji Panikker, since this is his debut venture especially in first half...those flash back scenes in first half was so amateurish...Background score from Rahul Raj did justice to the mood of the film, while the song wasn't pleasing at all.
