Mammootty to play an Idukkikkaran again this year
After fuelling discussions by playing a macho and cocky police inspector in Kasaba, Mammootty will soon be seen as a sweet-natured professional from Idukki in 7th Day director Shyam Dhar's next.
When we contacted Shyam Dhar, he confirmed that he has a project with the megastar. "It is scripted by Ratheesh Ravi. It's too soon to reveal the details and the rest of the cast," he says.
However, a source close to the production unit tells us that the movie will go on floors by the end of this year after Mammootty finishes work on Haneef Adeni's debut directorial and his next Tamil movie. The team is currently busy working on the final script.
It will be a family entertainer shot extensively in Idukki. Mammukka will be playing a regular Joe from the district like his character Philippose in Jayaraj's Loudspeaker. However, isn't as naive as the latter, but is a smart professional who has all the goodness of a person residing in Idukki," says the source.
Incidentally, Mammootty is playing an Idukki-based character in Johny Anthony's film Thoppil Joppan. Meanwhile, the actor is currently in Chennai busy shooting for N Ram's Tamil film titled Peranbu.
