Had not decided which movie to see on Friday evening since was not very confident on any of the movies being released yesterday. Finally after seeing the initial reviews in FK decided to go for Kismat...


Whenever we go for a Love Story with a tag line of Based on True Events, immediately Moideen comes to our mind. That is one problem we have with this movie. While Moideen is presented in a cinematic way, Kismat takes a more realistic approach.


The story revolves around the relationship of a 21yr old Muslim Boy with 28yr old Hindu girl and dynamics around it. The movie is completely based on the incidents in the Police Station with main focus on these two lovers. There are lot of side track incidents that happen in the Police Station which keeps the proceedings lively. In between the focus shifts to the lovers and the situation they are in. Also comes in several stuff like Love Jihad, Family Prestige linked to cast etc etc...


Overall another great real life incident which should be showcased in front of the world. But the actual intensity of that love story is missing in the movie due to the realistic presentation. Love stories are always Painkili and it needs the intensity on screen for viewers to get that feel. That is missing in various occasions due to the realistic presentation. Still we get the intensity to some extent towards the climax but it could have been much much better. I think if it was presented in a cinematic way we could have had another Moideen.

Lacks the intensity expected from a love story


Summary - A realistic movie which tells an extraordinary story

Crowd Response - Some claps after the movie. My wife and daughters did not like very much primarily due to the Realistic presentation I think.
