Dishoom - Its all about style !

Dishoom is an entertaining flick despite its cliche's.It doesn't promise to be a taut thriller,but it is somewhat satisfying as a weekend pop-corn entertainer.The movie inherits the trademark style of bollywood commercial potboilers,it indeed has more swag,style & entertaining elements,which makes this a fairly watchable one.Performances are fine,Varun as junaid is good,he keeps the proceedings entertaining with his smart one-liners & witty performance.John as an actor still has miles to reach,he remains stone faced for most of the time,but fits ok in the role of an impulsive cop.Jacqueline has nothing much to do,her screen space is very little,still ok performance.Akki did a superb performance in his cameo role ,he always make sure that the scene he appears will have something to cherish .Akshay Khanna as the baddie did a good job,he had that menace & intensity,his dialogue delivery is rough unlike his usual style,altogether,he did a nice performance.Supporting actors did a fine job.

1st half is good,the build-up was nice with mystery & thrills sorrounding it.There is enough comedies & punches for the entertainment section in this former half.1st half ended on a good note with a nice interval punch.2nd half started in a dull manner,the proceedings were boring with one misplaced song.Towards the half,it gained pace,Climax is ok though it is illogical,but it looks good for a masala outing.The second half in short is just average with the last 20-30 minutes being watchable.

Technically,Dishoom is a quality stuff,it makes sure that style overcomes the lack of substance,it did succeed to an extent.Dop is superb,Editing is fine,the film is racy in the former half,some cuts in the 2nd half half could have created a larger impact.Music is not impressive,none of the songs were good,Bgm is good.Rohith Dhawan fashioned the movie as a fast-paced caper,he made it a watchable stuff even though the plot was wafer-thin,he added all the regular commercial elements for making it appeal to the masses,there is style,comedy,action,glamour & cameos which makes this a fine watch.Th basic requisite of enjoying Dishoom is not to have high expectations,then you might find it to be a fine one-time watch.

Overall,Dishoom Entertains !
