For every text or a movie we can have different readings,Its our freedom to interpret on the text as we like to do..So in the case of IDI too we can have differeent dimentions upon the script...Here i'm going to discuss the psycho analytic reading of the movie IDI...As the trailer or promos promised its not a typical Cop movie with stylish charectors or visuals..Lets start the psycho analysis...Where is kohanahalli realy placed?Is it a place in kerala-karnataka border?where Davood ibrahim get placed?The so called hell like place is just a imaginative Place which is the characters,Davood ibrahims mind itself...He just created some Stylish villians,Happenings,Sentiments And actions to it..When he was in his young age as like most of our youth dreams he too had dreams upon becaming a police officer like inspector belram,Ali imran or bharath chandran..He too was in such a expectations of how a police officer can get in to action in a stylish way,where he can deliver some powerfull actions and dialoges as like his Super heros does...But when he reached the place where his Identity as a stylish cop get placed,All of the things were just opposit to his imaginations...But he couldnt stay there and later he made a imaginative place to be in that identity which he was dreaming off and where he can deliver that powerfull punches to the stylish villians...So eventhough the movie gets very typical and predictble in later half it was all about that charectors pre conceptious mind that he has been creating through out....He just made a perfect being state by imitating malayalam cop heros who can deliver punch dialoges and Stunts..If we read it in ths way we can enjoy the movie throughout...The typicalness,Predictive factors,Comic charectorisations and typical out of the mill Climax Vedi idi fight sequences....
Jayasurya was good in his role...Whole movie was about the charector and he could deliver not a strong but an ok Punch....Other cast was ok..Jojo and his gang were funny in most parts...
Director is a new comer and He could have done justice to the plot eventhough it has several reminders of other movies..Cinematography and editing was ok..
Overall IDI has a stylich cop and some nice laughs...Just watch it for Jayettan....3/5

Theatre responce were not flavourble...
Nb:I'm nt recommending IDI to any of you because dont know how many of you will read ths one as i read..:)

good for you that you could find stuff for psycho-analysis in this film...
apart from one or two funny lines, enikku utter vadham aayittaanu thonniyathu...
at the most, a very showy, fake tribute to the mass genre ennu parayaam...
pakshe prashnam ithu tribute aano spoof aano ennathaanu... kaliyaakkiya, poke cheytha mass setups ine kaal kodum predictable aaya oru udaip setup...
onnaamathu ee comic book-inspired, caricature line thanne ippo oru caricature aayi... overkill...
anyway, opinions!
