Oppam review......

OppamTheatre:Malappuram anandPriyadarshan and mohanlal may have a successfull carrier graph in their earlier times but in recent history both of them were struggling to make a hit in our industry...So when priyan announced his new movie with mohanlal i was thinking about a movie like Geethanjali or Aamayum muyalum would be the maximum that now priyan can deliver..Oppam started off in his usual style,Where he introduced his hero as a typical malayali man.who has a family and now he is struggling to make money for his sisters marriage..He is jayaraman and the only thing that makes him differ from priyan's other charectors is he is blind.But he has an excellent sensory system to know about surrounding and persons by using his other sensory organs...In later we came to know about where he works,How he is related to nandini and How his sensory mechanism helps him to solve some issues that happening around..When movie reached at its interval point i was thinking like what priyan is doing here?The one line plot was interesting but priyans script wasnt much interesting and He also has included all of his signature addons to it..As like a replica of his old movies..He used most of the time for explaining his charector and how his sensory abilities getting worked on..Nedumudi venu's episode and the mystery incidents didnt make a proper punch due to the poorly written scene sequences..Pre interval and interval portions were good and movie got its interval title with make us belive in the storyteller...Here comes the second half...Started off with a similiar joke that has ressemblence with kakakuyil's "Key" joke..But it worked well and several laughs poped up..Then the cat and mouse game begins and untill the climax priyan could make audience thrilled through out with his script and making..Loved the police station action scene...So for me second half was really interesting and loved each twists and turns...In negative side Priyan could have removed his signature styles in first half and he could have found a better replacement for vimala raman..3 rd song and gujarathi girl's episode wasn't a much needed one in that place and many scenes have ressemblence with jeetu joseph's drishyam..Shajons charector and Police station interrogation scenes were dittos...Lalettan was excellent in his role...So overall oppam may nt be a well made thriller with out any loopholes or a thriller that makes the audience thrilled through out,But it has its moments in script,Making and performances...3.5/5Bo verdict:Onam winner
