REVEALED: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to have a special appearance in 'Padmavati'

It's a known fact that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always been Sanjay Leela Bhansali's muse. The duo share mutual respect, warmth and camaraderie.

While the filmmaker was promoting his last release, Bajirao Mastani, “Aishwarya Rai will always be my muse,“ was what Sanjay Leela Bhansali had said during every media interaction. His film went on to sweep seven wins at the 63rd National Awards, including Best Supporting Actress (Tanvi Azmi), Best Choreographer (Remo D'Souza) and his fourth National Award, as Best Director, on March 28.

A day later, Ash had arrived at the filmmaker's residence to congratulate him and stayed back to spend some time with one of her favourite directors. When the paparazzi surrounded the duo, she graciously planted a kiss on Bhansali's cheek, driving them into a tizzy.

Now, according to sources, Bhansali has written a special appearance and a song sequence with the former Miss World in mind for his next film, Padmavati. The film features Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead and Aditi Rao Hydari in a supporting role. “Bhansali spoke to Ash and they both are really keen to make it work. The song will be filmed during a 15-20 day schedule, which includes rehearsals at a suburban studio. Ash also has a few dialogues,“ reveals a source close to the development.

Bhansali whose repertoire boasts of films like Khamoshi, Black and Goliyon Ki Ras-Leela: Ramleela is not keen to repeat a jugalbandi, a la Madhuri Dixit and Ash in Devdas or Priyanka Chopra and Deepika in Bajirao Mastani. “This will be completely different from any thing seen before,“ the source added.

The 43-year-old actress was last seen in Karan Johar's Diwali release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She is reuniting with Bhansali after their third collaboration, Guzaarish, in 2010, following which she took a five-year sabbatical. The director and his muse had first come together 17 years ago for the 1999 romance-drama, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and followed it up with Devdas three years later.
