Theater location is one of the major problems for Kanhangad.
Kanhangad used to be one of the centers with the highest collection in North Kerala. Many movies like Akashadoothu, Manichithrathazhu, Godfather, Narasimham etc got huge collection in Kanhangad. That was even when there were many theaters in the nearby centers like Nileshwaram and Uduma.
VGM Multiplex is in Alamipalli, which is not a convenient location for most people from the Eastern belt. Vinayaka is also a little far the bus stand. It is hard to walk to Deepthi from Kanhangad bus stand.

Nileshwaram can easily have a couple of theaters. Vellarikundu can also have a theater complex.
