NOPE, for me its definitely Malayalam. Quality maathram alla, they also meet commercial success. Malayalam audience nalla reethiyil quality cinema back cheiyumm, not just in multies but across all centres. Tamil anganne alla, cherriya cinema screens illa, pinne 1-2 weeks kazhinju dvd kanaam. Both the malayalam film industry and audience are leagues ahead of tamil right now.

From 2017 quality movies that had commercial success includes Mayanadhi, Thondimuthal, Parava, Angamaly, Njandukal, Godha, Sairabanu, Prakashan, Sudani, Joseph, Varathan, Koode, Swathantryam, Jude, Carbon, Btech, Aravindhan, Theevandi, Kumblangi, June, Vijay SUper etc...etc....

Nalla cinema inniyum undu....pakshe njaan success aaya padangal maathrame mention cheythetuluu. Tamil cinea industry'il cherriya cinema'ku encouragement illaaa! This is why at present our industry is in a far more positive state than theirs.

You are completely wrong here. Small films ne nalla support und in tamil from movie goers. Good movie anengil it'll definitely make profit in tamil industry.The problem here is that too many movies are made and they don't get dates to release it. But i'll agree that on an average Malayalam industry probably has a greater roi. And even recently, they had two atbb in Petta and Viswasam. But what malayalam industry is doing right now with lucifer is incredible. It is breaking barriers.

Agree..... no point in making theatrical movies simply to be telecast of tv or straight to dvd! In terms of roi Malayalam movies are doinf far better. Big budget malayalam releases always grabbed attention, more so now due to the NRI Mallu diaspora buying tickets all over the world. Whats novel about the Maayalam industry tho is the commercial success good small movies are able to find, something thats unmatched in any other South Indian industry.
