North By Northwest

Hitchcock intended to make something more light hearted and fun, something devoid of the heavy use of symbolism like his previous film, Vertigo. Nonetheless, North By Northwest, a story of mistaken identity is considered to be a classic not only for its colorful adventure like style but also for its themes of deception and moral relativism in the cold war.

Another intriguing factor about the film is its brilliant use of macguffin, a term made popular by Hitchcock himself. To sum up, North By Northwest laid the groundwork for countless action thrillers to follow, including the celebrated 'Bond Franchise'.

Being a fan of the master craftsman, North By Northwest is his most comprehensible work, and it's definitely a treat for fans of the action-thriller genre.

After watching contagion, first thing that came to mind was virus... Ashiq definitely was inspired .. many scenes resembled a lot...
.even so, ashiq did try to stay true to the happenings in our state and did a brilliant job... Hospital scenes okke മുൻപൊരിക്കലും മലയാളത്തിൽ കാണാത്ത രീതിയിൽ എടുത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്..

I don't think Virus is a blatant copy of Contagion, nonetheless it definitely shares quite a lot of similarities. Even though the basic premise is set in the midst of a worldwide epidemic, the underlying socio-political themes in Contagion were very different. Besides, that film was fictional and dealt in hypotheticals, Virus actually happened. It's more like Aashiq and his team were inspired by the narrative structure of Contagion, but you can't call it a knock off. There's a hell lot of difference between ripping off and getting inspired from some other craft.
