My Happy family
A Georgian film about a middle aged women who is also a collage professor decides to leave her family and live alone separately. What I really liked is the treatment. The film doesn't specify any reason for the decision on the face of the viewer. And how her family react to the situation is shown without involving any dramatics.
Its amazing how these foreign filmmakers treat human drama. They make a point without exerting any kind of force. Smooth.
And then not to say about outstanding performances

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
It's fun, it's silly, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.
The plotting may be primitive, but it's all carried off with great style and finesse. An infectiously fun blend of horror and comedy, Afterlife is a smart, entertaining addition to the series.
King Richard (2021)
A visceral, holistic look into the mind of Richard Williams.
King Richard is a soul-stirring crowd-pleaser that works whether you know the outcome of the story or whether it's all new to you. The film serves its purpose by making the audience tear up in some moments and cheer in others.
King Richard is an unabashed feel-good movie and one of the best of its kind in recent memory.
Will Smith turns in his best performance to date! ❤️
The Last Duel (2021)
No mere historical drama.
A dark, grim and fascinating experience from beginning to end, and everything about it from the cinematography to the score is riveting. Historians will take issue with some of the filmmakers' choices, but fans of thoughtful historical drama will just hunker down for the feast.
The Last Duel is an elegant slow-burn, but it rewards the attentive viewer in spades.
House of Gucci (2021)
Sporadically compelling yet ultimately disappointing.
House of Gucci is seductively stylish, but Ridley Scott's assured eye can't quite compensate for its sluggish pace, and the juxtaposition between tone and content. It doesn't really feel interested in Patrizia as a character - we don't find out much about her other than the things that supposedly happened to her without any real insight into her decisions or why she made them.
Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino - A great ensemble to die for :)
The last duel - have been waiting for this since the announcement. damon-affleck reunite as screenwriters since their oscar winning film goodwill hunting. directed by ridley scott. scottnte making stylenekkal damon affleck aesthetics feel cheyyunna period film.
story, essence and structure of the film has huge influence of classic of all time rashomon. more than a period film last duel is a case study of male ego, their never ending confusions and most importantly the psychology of women. how far a woman will go to conceive/fulfill her plan and prevent the world from knowing truth.
contrary to popular belief that a woman can never keep secret she indeed is capable of keeping any big secret or suppressing the actual facts if it involve her plan. kodathiyil okke puttu pole kallam parayum penungal unlike their male counterparts who struggle. when women lie its impossible to find out the truth because they cry, they scream and never relent.
padam kaanenda work aanu for its premise, for the story telling and for the nuances. the story of last duel is open for interpretation, viewers can reach their own conclusion.
Rating 3.25/5.
