Munthrivallikal Thallirkumbol is simple family drama that has its heart at the right place.The biggest strength of the film is undoubtedly the stellar performance of the Legendary actor,when it was backed up by a fine narration and an engaging plot,the final outcome came out to be really good.Thiis definitely not an exceptional cinema,what makes this really good is indeed Lalettan and his fabulous performance.Lalettan yet again proves why he is the best,he was subtle and calm during the initial hour and thereafter undergoes a complete transformation to a caring and lovable family man,he just nailed it.His minute expressions and gestures was indeed a treat to watch,Ulahannan is easily one of the best characters given to the Lalettan recently.Meena gives ample support to Lalettan,she did a commendable job delivering a superb performance,her onscreen chemistry with Lalettan is indeed the saving grace of this film.Anoop Menon was surprisingly good in a comic role,most of his comedies were well recieved.Shajon,Alancier,Aima,Sanoop,Bindu Panicker,Srinda and the rest of the cast were good in their respective roles.Neha Saxena is the only actor who delivers an intolerable performance.

Technically,Munthirivallikal is a fine product.Dop is fine,though nothing worth mentioning,the frames were perfect for a movie of this genre.Editing is ok,some of the scenes in both the halves could have been easily trimmed which may have resulted in a much better output.Songs were fine,Punnamada Kaayal is the best among the lot.Story and Screenplay by Sindhuraj is neat and decent,this is indeed one of his finest works till date.First half had a slow start with some minor lags in between,the film gains momentum after the initial 30 minutes and from there on,it was completely entertaining with some superbly worked out comedies.Second half started in a nice manner,but halfway through,the film starts to lose its pace,most of the scenes became repetetive.But the climax was superbly,the marvelous response from the audience was enough to know that they loved it.When it was ended with one of Lalettan's popular dialogue,it was neatly wrapped.

Jibu Jacob proves that he is not a one time wonder.His making was matured enough for a movie of this genre.He was successful in bringing out the intensity in family relationships and moreover,he was able to use Lalettan to the fullest making this one of his finest performance in recent times.Lalettan,he is indeed a phenomenon.Giving both stellar performances and huge commercial blockbusters,its just a cakewalk for this Legend.Munthirvallikal Thallirkumbol may not be a great cinema,but this one is easily one of the finest family dramas to have come out recently.In short,this is a perfect movie for the families and for others,this is definitely a good one time watch,Lalettan and his performance is enough to make this a satisfying cinematic experience.
