Default Raees - "Bakwaas" mat bolneka

    RAEES
A film that fails to live up to the massive expectations. Mainstream cinema is a new playground for director Rahul Dholakia and the first half in particular gets affected by his confused approach. Raees takes too much time to take off and tells a wholly simplistic story. The film gathers steam as it goes along and the officials become worthy adversaries to Shahrukh’s Raees.
Dholakia succeeds in painting a fairly authentic picture of Gujarat and manages to sprinkle few effective moments in between including some humorous ones featuring the character of Nawazuddin, who is spontaneous in his cop role. SRK still appears to be in superstar mode and doesn’t entirely tailor himself to the character in hand, he does well in intense episodes like the confrontation scene with the opposite leader but overacts in some of the early portions. Mahira Khan looks decent and does a respectable job while Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub shares a warm chemistry with Shahrukh.
Overall definitely not a bad movie but not remarkable either. Watch it with low expectations.

    Favt scenes (Spoiler)

    1. nawaz insisting on having the sweet sent by raees, since he loves eating. Him overhearing raees's tele conversation with wife and feeling shy.
    2. confrontation scene between srk and opposition leader
    3. the scene where atul kulkarni is shot, like the way it was integrated to the item song. the scene where villain is killed too has the punch." Battery Nahi Bolneka" works big time there.
4, second half overall kept me engaged

    The rivalry part was rushed.
