Predictable and Cliche'd,Kaabil is a formulaic revenge drama. This is yet another version of the tried and tested plot, only difference being that the protagonist is blind. The makers could have made this better if they showed some novelty in the narration pattern, sadly,Kaabil turns out to be a usual cinema. The saving grace of the film is undoubtedly Hrithik's stunning performance,it is the only one factor which gives you the patience to sit through this cinema.Hrithik puts up a superb performance playing the blind protagonist to perfection, this can be easily rated among his finest performances till date.He was very controlled unlike some of his previous performances and the intensity he carries throughout the cinema is stunning,a power packed and towering performance by all means.Yamini is good, her onscreen chemistry with Hrithik works out big time and that indeed made the initial 30-40 minutes passable.Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy were good playing the antagonists.Others were fine in their respective roles.
Technically,Kaabil is strictly an average product. The vfx works were below par and some of the scenes even had continuity problems.Dop is fine, the final action scene was take impressively.Editing is poor, the film drags a lot even though the running time is just about 140 minutes.Songs were not at all impressive, none of the songs were good and the song placement was disastrous,a needless item number in the start of the second half itself shows the poor placement of songs.Bgm is the only fine aspect,it was elevating and even made some scenes a notch above.First Half started on an average note,it picked up pace by halfway and ended on a terrific interval punch, that interval punch is simply the best scene in the movie.Second Half is half-baked with few engaging scenes in between.Kaabil sadly falls to the usual masala category in the second half.Post Climax scenes were taken nicely, that made the second half to an average level.
Sanjay Gupta followed the template style of revenge dramas with nothing new to offer. The narration is inconsistent with few unnecessary songs thrown in between,it was really a speed-breaker.Sanjay Gupta though average with his making,he superbly brought out the terrific performer inside Hrithik.Hrithik was able rise above the script in every scene, but the film couldn't match up to his brilliant performance.Except for some finely crafted scenes and Hrithik's stunning performance,Kaabil has nothing much to offer.
Overall.Kaabil is Average !
Verdict : Average !

That moment when we feel bad for Hrithik who tries badly to save this film , had the second half not been plain Hrithik would have had a BB
