Default Veeram - Mixed Feelings !

Veeram is a cinema which aspires to be a modern day classic, but falls somewhere in between being such a cinematic experience. The technical fineness and some superbly crafted sequences does make this a watchable fare.Alternately, the over dramatized performances and few loose ends tampers the film to a certain extend. One of the major drawback of the film is its casting, roping in bollyowood actors and making them deliver such huge and ancient malayalam dialogues indeed played the spoilport.Kunal Kapoor tried his level best to make it a commendable performance, but the poor lip sync often creates an awkward feel.I'm not expecting these actors to render the dialgoues flawlessly, but casting some known faces could have made this much better.Same is the case with many of the others artists, most of them looked clueless.

Technically,Veeram is a quality product. The technical brilliance is the major factor that holds this film together, the breathtaking visuals and the stupendously choreographed action sequences does make many of the portions engaging. The cinematography is remarkable,S. Kumar has done an outstanding job making it a visual stunner. The final action sequence in the rain has been shot marvelously,it was indeed the best part of this cinema.Music and Bgm is fine, the timely tunes often lifted many of the scenes.Cgi works were good considering the standards of a mollywood cinema, still the inddor scenes could have been better.First Half moved on an average note, the film gained momentum during the pre-interval portions and it ended on a pretty good interval block.Second half is much better than the former half with the climax being the best part.

Jayaraj is a director known for his experimental outings,Veeram is no exception.Adapting William Shakespeare's Macbeth,Jayaraj did his level best to make this a quality stuff. He did craft some spectacular scenes, one being the climax action sequence. He didn't infuse any masala elements to make this a commercially appealing cinema. But considering the standards of Jayaraj,Veeram doesn't seem to be a complete cinema. There are certain scenes which are exaggerated and they do bring boredom.Veeram can be watched for all the efforts put in,but if you are expecting a classic stuff, you may find this disappointing. On the whole,Veeram is an average cinema.

    Overall,Veeram is Average !

    Verdict : Average !
    Rating : 5.5/10
    B.O Verdict :
    Mohanlal | SRK | Prithviraj | Dulquer | Ranbir | Vijay
