For me it looked fine the way man to animal transformation is portrayed... Yakshi, pretham ennokke parayunna pole illogical aaya ilkathoru kettukadha alla Odiyanmarudethu... angane oru vibhagam undayirunnu... Manushya sadhyamaaya karyangake avarkku cheyyaan pattoo... pazhayakaal quoatation gundakal ennu venemenkil parayaam.. So ee padathil kanichathu logical thanneyaanu... Pakshe expectation correct aayi set cheyyanamaayirunnu... Aalukal expect cheythathu illogical aaya transformations aanu... avide pizhachu.

Atleast they should have made the character realistic then - with pakka mannerisms - bold, raw and animal like....ithu randu sideluttum illathe poyi....Classum illa massum illa....

Padathile aake interesting plot aa communist aayittulla korkkal + father portions aanu...Athinu munpum pinpum padam half baked aanu...Peter Hein inu koodikal koduthathu enthinanennu ottum manassilakunnilla..

I liked BGM + Cinematography which is really good!!!

Completely agree...For me major let down was this transformation - man to animal...I expected that to be fabulous...But that was plotted with the mask and horns!!! Director got Nolan effect to make the same non-linear. Because of this non-linearity none of the characters get connected with the audience...To add to already bad movie experience, they gave songs out of sequence and very poorly VFXed..

agree with u to an extent. pandu jordan enna member ivde paranja pole oru low profile narration ...with limited budget, raw and real. menon and crew had totally different plan. they wanted to introduce a novel conecpt, mythological superherosne pole they wanted to tell story of a superhero from our own backyard. i still believe many didnt get the character. obviously manikyan cant transform as an animal but hes not an average joe either, he can fly, he can run fast like a beast, supported with the tricks he learned over the years he was able to deceive people that he could transform as a beast....

siddiqhnte character parayunna pole avane ningalku ariyatha kondanu.. so they knew he had powers, prabha tells him to come as a deer, she is not an idiot to say that. i believe oru test screening and adding some clarity / fine tuning should have helped this sincere effort, alas.
whatever overall it was entertaining for certain audience... and much better than most of the superstar movies... again to each their own..

Watched Odiyan today.
Disappointed.
I feel the main letdown is the way in which Odiyan is portrayed.
Odiyan in our tales is someone with mystical and magical powers with which he can transform himself to animal forms at night. This may be what people expected on screen.
But what we got is a trained martial arts person wearing fancy dress costumes to look like an anthropomorphic animal.
This topped with senseless direction, amateur graphics and tasteless nonlinear narration made it a painful and forgettable experience.

Theatre: SP Peyad.
Occupancy: Around 30 in first class, against 413 capacity.
