Thanks dude
Watched COMRADE IN AMERICA from PVR, Mangalore.
In one word, the movie was DISAPPOINTING. 😔 The plot is about a young communist student going behind an NRI girl who was his lover, who left the country suddenly without a message & is forced for a wedding by her parents there. He is forced to go illegally to her country (America, obviously) through Mexico, which is a path of so many difficulties and impossibilities. How far he is willing to go, without a visa for his love, the lessons he learns throughout the journey & how their love story ends, form the plot. The story is so predictable, that you tend to curse the scriptwriter for the clichès unfolding on screen. The first half is the better one here with some light-hearted humour, political satire scenes and a very well-taken intro scene for Dulquer Salman! 😎👌🏻 Eventhough the intro scene & BGM is said to have been copied from Romain Gavras' "No Church In The Wild", it gave a good kickoff to the movie, which slowly started to lag on as the story progressed! There were the usual Amal Neerad slow-motion sequences, but the fight scenes were a let-down(may not be so for DQ fans). The second half was a pretty average affair and was like a road movie, which cannot be compared to NPCB, which I feel is still the best road movie in Malayalam. Siddique-Dulquer combo sequences, that of a Congress father & Communist son, provided some of the best scenes in the film. Soubin & Dileesh did a good job with their roles as the funny sidekicks of the protagonist. The female leads never had a good chemistry with Dulquer & was a mis-cast!
Bottom Line: Worth A Miss! 👎🏻
