the team is good but status of club is not elite ..if manu want to position them selves with europes 2nd grade clubs no problem. when moureen was at porto and beat manu with the container parking tactics everybody congratulated him ...but you cant expect that kind of reception at a big club . unfortunately moureen still posses that small club inferior mentality though ... even if had msn at his disposal he wont change...

So its not like he is always defensive!! With a properly balanced team and right pool of talent,he has shown he is not against playing attractive football!
At united, right now who are in a transition phase, results are more important than style of play..when you have been thru some rough patches, results count more !! So far there has been slow but steady progress under him too!!

Scoring goals and playing in an entertaing way is entierly different...conceding goals might have a better corelation with entertainment factor . Moureens chelsea or any other squad wasnt known for playing beautiful game...despite his success most of the fans booed him too

Conceding goals might have a correlation with entertainment factor but its always better to be effective rather than just entertaining especially in transition...SAF used to say attack wins you games, defense wins you titles...a world class defense at the back will make you confident going forward!! this season manutd was operating with 5 of fergie's signings in defense including two wingers turned wingbacks (young and valencia) plus Jones , Smalling and De Gea...Leaving De Gea , no one is really world class, smalling even at age 28 does not hav confidence on the ball...Jones is pretty good , but his injury history has been terrible which has impacted his development ...
Minutes played: Valencia - 2653, Smalling - 2356, Young 2297, Jones - 1885
Compare this defense to United's most famous defense in recent times....Van Der Sar...Evra..Vidic...Rio...Neville !! they were rocks at the back who gave so much confidence for the team to attack!!
as for the rest of defense which were sparingly used, (minutes played lindelof - 1194, bailly - 909, shaw - 646, rojo - 476, darmian - 286, blind - 284)
Bailly is probably already world class but troubled by injuries this season..Lindelof is still young and developing and in that honeymoon period settling in at a new club....as for others , i dont think any one can be classified as world class
