Tovino's movie carries a positive hope nowadays. Not sure why. Anyway wanted to see the movie mainly because of Tovino's presence, but did not have huge expectations since I did not like director's previous movie Kunjiramayanam. But this movie was good. Really entertaining with clean jokes and no double meaning comedies. A well packed neat entertainer to enjoy with your family.


For some reason or the other we are suddenly having several Malayalam movies told in the backdrop of Playgrounds in our state. Georgettan's Pooram, Rakshadhikari Byju and now Godha. Godha is easily the best among the three. Godha is more genuine to its theme and it is linked well to the dreams of old and young generation. In addition to the playground track, it also have the quite common father - son issue where son is not able to meet father's dreams about him, and the change that happens to the son half way through the movie. Those cliche items are there but, it is kept well within the limit so that we never lose the entertainment factor of the movie.


Story is nothing great - Wrestler Dad, Son who does not like Wrestling, His lady love a wrestler - Now can his dad see his dream alive through his son's lady love ? That forms the crux of the story. But the real winner is the several one liners from Tovino's friends gang and Tovino himself. They do not let you feel bored even for a minute.
