There is something which we film lovers should understand about Mammootty and the period/war/drama films. There are tons of movies releasing every year in almost all industries which has the same genre. And almost many movies are rich in technical aspects or we can see the potential use of Technology in cinema. when we look into all there are couple of movies which suddenly comes to our mind.. One is Oru vadakkan veeragadha and then it's Gladiator. (Bahubali recently-but for me personally I don't think it will be remembered for ages)
In the case of Gladiator which is a movie remembered and loved across the film lovers it's not just the technical or other aspect which makes it amazing but the Acting performance of Russell Crowe was just awesome . He made Maximus to a different level so that people get involved and had the feel of the character in their heart while watching and even after.
Same with case of OVVG when Chanthu was onscreen there was no Mammootty. Viewers were taken into another level that the Character was taken so deeply, even after watching it stays in our heart.
And there comes the difference of the actor.. As every similar movies are technically rich, it just comes and goes but dosnt stay in our heart for long. There may follow many movies in similar category in Malayalam. But when Mammootty is the hero he just tranforms and make the audience wonder. That difference of Acting Unparallel is something we Malayalee will be always proud of.. Even after 50 years from now on OVVG will be classic and we will say to the world that we had an Actor named Mammootty who was so brilliant and an acting encyclopedia the actors now can learn from. As during many stage shows Anchors present Mammootty as "Malayala cinemaye lokathinte nerukayil ethicha Maha nadan". This words are 100% true and justifies him. He is the one actor who we can be proud of now and forever. As many Co actors along with him are finding difficulty to perform their so called natural talent as age goes and here this Man is improving(I don't know what is there more than his acting standard, only he does) day by day and making us mesmerized.
Mamangam for me is not just a war / thriller movie but a movie we witness some incredible acting performance.
This Man who never calls himself a Complete actor but an Actor which made people to say You are the finest across the format. As I always say - Challenge him with collection records or watever you want to but not with Acting as I am sure u will find any other opponent to mark just half what he has achieved. The Actor for all Generations. Salute you Mammootty and thanks for making us your fan and to be proud always of that.
"MANANGAM- MAMMOOTTY" - Definitiley a wait to watch.
