The experimental span is going over the whole industry, so it is the perfect time to throw out something which does not decipher to the normal audience and make a fake belief of trying something different, which is not. Director Bejoy Nambiar had some thoughts of traveling in a different pattern which does not seem cliche to the audience, but he wasted his thoughts in a half-baked attempt which is so hard for the audience to digest and tolerate for 2 hours 30 minutes. Anthologies are not new for the audience, we have seen successful anthologies like Kerala Cafe, and 5 Sundharikal, which had fresh thoughts and clear intentions to deliver a message with powerful written characters and soulful scenes which glued the audience to the screen, and that’s what Solo lacks to be a likeable fare. As a performer Dulquer impressed in World of Thrilok with an expressive transformation scene, and the rest of the characters weren’t written well for Dulquer to perform. Even though World of Thrilok doesn’t seem cogent it is the best among the other three sleeping pills. Background score was okayish, molded with the scenes. Songs were terrible. To make it simple Solo falls under the category of the odd one among other anthologies (Kerala Cafe & 5 Sundharikal).
World of Shekhar: Sucks!!!
World of Thrilok: Good!
World of Shiva: Torture!!!
World of Rudra: Terrible!!!
Rating: 1/5
Verdict: Boring
