Anyone who has seen the erstwhile films of the lead actors can be sure about what to expect from a movie like 'Lava Kusha' that was sure to be a mindless comic thriller that relies upon slapstick and dialogue humor involving the duo of Aju Varghese and Neeraj Madhav.The expectation didn't go wrong and the almost 150 minute long movie is a passable comic entertainer that could have been much better an experience with the support of a strong and well-trimmed screenplay .


Directed by Gireesh Mano who has earlier wielded the megaphone for Sunny Wayne starrer comedy 'Nee Ko Njaa Cha',Lava Kusha has quiet a good number of humor sequences that manages to tickle the fun bones,thanks to good chemistry between Aju and Neeraj.The weak link comes in the form of a totally inconsistent screenplay that's utterly predictable,turning monotonous at regular intervals.


The half-baked screenplay added with lack of logic keeps the movie from crossing the level of mediocrity at any point in the narrative and thus makes it at best a passable entertainer with few good laughs as its saving grace.I do expect Neeraj to do good homework for his next script and to come up with an impressive one that may cater to all sections of the audience.


Both the actors Aju Varghese and Neeraj did their part exceptionally well and tried their best to save the movie from sinking upto an extent.A good supporting act from Biju Menon too was notable and the experienced actor gave a stylish performance accompanied by energetic BGM by Gopi Sundar.The supporting cast played their part well eventhough I felt its hard time DeeptiSati work upon her lip-sync issue that was also evident in her previous films like Neena and Pullikkaran Stara.


Songs and background score by Gopi Sundar were passable but I didn't find it enjoyable to include a rework of the the sensational hit "Ente Kayyil Onnum Illa" that had no place in the narrative of the movie.Cinematography by Prakash Velayudhan and edits by Johnkutty were okayish.


Overall,Lava Kusha is watchable entertainer with good chemistry between the lead actors as its sole highlight.
