Mayanadhi Review - Haunting

മാറ്റിനി കണ്ട് ഇറങ്ങി, പണിക്ക് പോയി, രാത്രി തിരിച്ചു വീട്ടിൽ വന്ന് ശാപാടും കഴിച്ച് ഉറങ്ങാൻ കിടക്കുമ്പോളും മനസ്സിൽ തങ്ങി നിന്നു ഈ സിനിമ. എല്ലാം കൊണ്ടും ഒരു well made മൂവി.

First halfil നല്ല രീതിയിൽ കഥ setup ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. Character work, അവരുടെ motivations, flaws, എല്ലാം beleivable ആയി build up ചെയ്*തു. Maturity ഇല്ലാത്ത, ഒരു flawed ആയിട്ടുള്ള, ഒരാളുടെ മരണത്തിനു കാരനക്കാരനായ, morrally കുറച്ച് bankrupt ആയ, എന്നാൽ നമുക്ക് അറിയാതെ ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നുന്ന മാത്തനും, maturity വളരെ അധികമുള്ള, independent ആയ, ambitious ആയ, എന്നാൽ സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ സഫലീകരിക്കാൻ പാട് പെടുന്ന അപ്പുവും ആണ് ഈ സിനിമയുടെ നെടും തൂണുകൾ. ഈ റോളുകൾ ചെയ്ത Tovinoyum Aishwaryayum നല്ല വൃത്തി ആയി ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരു ഹീറോ പരിവേഷം പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു character ആണ് മാത്തൻ. ഒരു less talented ആക്ടറുടെ കയ്യിൽ unlikable ആയി തീരാവുന്ന റോൾ. But Tovino uses his inherent charm and the audience can't help but root for him. Aishwarya ആകട്ടെ, ഞണ്ടുകളിൽ വളരെ amateurish അഭിനയം ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഇതിൽ വളരെ അധികം improve ആയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതു എത്രത്തോളം Aashiqinte guidance ആണെന്ന് അറിയില്ല. She carries that portion of the movie, and she makes you understand why Mathan is so in love with her.

First half end ചെയ്യുന്നത് മുതൽ കഥ എവിടേക്കാണ് പോകുന്നതെന്ന് audience ഒരു വിതം മനസ്സിലാക്കും. മാത്തനും അപ്പുവിനും ഒരു ഹാപ്പി ending അസാധ്യമാണ്. സിനിമയുടെ അത് വരെ ഉള്ള tone അവർക്ക് ഒരു filmy ending കൊടുക്കാൻ സമ്മതിക്കില്ല. ഇത് second halfil കുറച്ച് ഏഴച്ചിൽ അനുഭവപ്പെടാൻ കാരണമായി. Audiencine surprise ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നതു മാത്രമാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നിയ ഒരു negative. Climax കുറച്ച് predictable ആയി പോയി. ആ scene കുറച്ച് വലിച്ച് നീട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരു abrupt, and ambigous ending കുറച്ചും കൂടി effective aayirunnene. അപ്പോൾ അവസാനമുള്ള 'അപ്*സ്' എന്നുള്ള ആ വിളി നല്ല meaningfull ആയേനെ.

Side characters and the actors who performed those roles did well. Every character had a part to play to service the story. None of them felt out of place.

Music: പാട്ടുകൾ ഒന്നും വലിയ മെച്ചമില്ലെങ്കിലും bgm and അതു use ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതും അസ്സലാണ്. Very haunting. The BGM makes a few of the scenes.

എന്തുകൊണ്ടും ഈ വർഷത്തെ മികച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ ഇടം അർഹിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രം. പറയുന്നത് ഒരു heavy story ആണെങ്കിലും, bore അടിക്കാതെ ആസ്വദിച്ചു കാണാൻ കഴിയുന്ന വിതത്തിൽ aashiq ഇത് package ചെയ്*തിട്ടുണ്ട്*.
