For some time, we have been hearing the news that Sonam Kapoor has been roped in to play the main protagonist in the movie adaptation of the best-selling novel, The Zoya Factor. The rights to adapt this novel, written by Anuja Chauhan, have been bagged by Aarti and Pooja Shetty, while Abhishek Sharma will be directing the screen adaptation. And now it looks like they have found the male lead in this handsome South star. Also read: Sonam Kapoor's monochrome outfit fails to impress at the 63rd Filmfare Awards red carpet

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Dulquer Salmaan has been roped in to play the male lead in the movie. A source close to the project revealed, “It’s an interesting character and Dulquer has liked the script. While he has committed to the project he is yet to sign on the dotted line.”

If the report is true, this would be Dulquer's second movie in Bollywood. His first movie is Karwaan, that also stars Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar, and is scheduled to release this year.

Coming back to The Zoya Factor, the book narrates the whimsical tale of a PR executive, Zoya Solanki, played by Sonam Kapoor who was born at the moment when Indian had lifted the 1983 World Cup. During an assignment, she comes across a low-on-spirits Indian cricket team who invites her to have breakfast with them. When they win the match that day, the team, as well as the media, hail Zoya as the lucky charm of the team. This puts her at crossroads with the handsome captain, who believes luck has no place on the cricket field. In August last year, Sonam had put out a tweet where she confirmed being a part of the movie. “Super excited to work with amazing sister duo, Aarti and Pooja Shetty, with the brilliant Abhishek Sharma on Anuja Chauhan’s Zoya factor (sic),” she had tweeted. The movie is expected to start shooting in the summer.
