RRR FINAL BOXOFFICE



RRR completed its run at the box office with a gross of Rs. 902 crores in India and Rs. 1111 crores worldwide. The film became the second-highest-grossing movie at the Indian box office upon release. It now sits at number three after KGF 2 overtook it last month.




The film went on to become the highest-grossing film in Telugu states, beating Baahubali: The Conclusion with Rs. 394 crores, earning Rs. 239 crores share. The Hindi version of the film put big numbers in North India with Rs. 324 crores entering the top ten grossers ever in the region. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka contributed strongly with Rs. 80 crores each.

KGF2 FINAL BOXOFFICE



KGF Chapter 2 has almost exhausted its run at the box office. It is still running in a few centres in its tenth week but they will hardly add to its box office tally and the business is as good as closing. The total box office collections of KGF 2 in India is Rs. 992 crores approx to date. The movie grossed another $27 million internationally for a worldwide gross of Rs. 1198 crores approx, just shy of Rs. 1200 crores mark. Now the math does have film under Rs. 1200 crores, but since there is no centralised box office tracking in India and there is a lot of estimation involved in many of the tracking regions, with estimation there is a chance of overestimation or underestimation to some degree, so for all practical reasons, it's as good as Rs. 1200 crores.



The film scored blockbuster numbers universally across the board, which is extremely rare. RRR also did over Rs. 900 crores in India but it was Telugu states that were doing the heavy lifting. It was a similar case internationally, RRR numbers did more than half of its biz in just one market i.e. North America while KGF 2 did bumper business everywhere whether it was the Middle East, Australia, Malaysia, Nepal or Europe.

VIKRAM GOES PAST BAAHUBALI2 IN TN BOXOFFICE



On the sixteenth day of its release, Vikram created history, becoming the biggest grosser ever in Tamil Nadu. As of yesterday, Kamal Haasan mega-blockbuster was just a few lakhs behind the all-time record, with collections from the Saturday morning it overtook the five year old Baahubali 2. The film is also expected to cross Rs. 150 crores mark today which will be a new benchmark in Tamil Nadu box office history. The way Vikram is holding, it is likely to set the new box office high in the state at over Rs. 175 crores.



Kamal Haasan in his incredible career has had multiple record grossers in Tamil Nadu. Indian, Apoorva Sagodharargal and Sakalakala Vallavan are three of those, there may be some others but due to limited box office tracking in past, some of them may be disputed and some probably had no reporting whatsoever. The legendary actor now has top grossers in his name over the span of 40 years with Sakalakala Vallavan becoming the record grosser in 1982 while Vikram taking the record in 2022.

Vikram collected Rs. 14.75 crores in the third weekend in Tamil Nadu, taking another record in the state, beating Baahubali 2 by almost 15 per cent, which had Rs. 12.90 crores in the third weekend. Baahubali 2 added Rs. 36 crores in Tamil Nadu after its third weekend, even if Vikram were to match that, it will reach Rs. 193 crores in the state in full run, which doesn't look like an impossible task.

The film has recorded big numbers outside Tamil Nadu as well, crossing Rs. 35 crores in Kerala, Rs. 30 crores in Telugu states and Karnataka nearing Rs. 25 crores. The Hindi version is collecting at low but steady levels and should hit Rs. 20 crores in full run
