There are some movies in hotstar which are in really good quality .. ones I have noticed are
Manu uncle
Sandesham
In Harihar nagar
Ravanaprabhu
Moonnam mura
Vandanam
So they must be having good prints of these movies for sure

Just want to suggest afew business ideas ..

The superstars especially Mohanlal and Mammootty and may be some directors like joshy , priyadarshan and Sathyan anthikkad may be interested in restoring some of their own old classics.. they are all financially strong and stable . Afew lakhs won't be an issue for them .

Movie enthusiasts or new age filmmakers may be interested in restoring old not so popular classics . Remember it was Amitabh Bachchan who financially supported restoration of Charlie Chaplin movies of 1930 .

Rather than starting a new platform , may be you should approach Netflix who are aggressively investing in India and possibly they are interested in regional content too . Or even Amazon prime . Netflix have HD prints with 5.1 audio of some movies which are 6-7 yrs old , and also many off beat movies are there ..These older classics will bring in more hits than some of their offbeat offerings for sure.

Not necessarily. The thing is, those movies were Telecined by Asianet long time ago,when negatives are in good condition. Now the situation is not like that. Due to poor caring most of the negatives are lost. Just forget those movies Which are processed at Vijaya Color Lab. Those are lost for ever.

Suntv's streaming service sunnxt has movies with decent quality , so they must be having prints too
