Pep have a habit of bottling it at crucial times....he had done that with Bayern and now continuing with City...he have too many good players in his squad ( was the case with Bayern too ) and that itself is creating problem for him....other teams didn't have that luxury
At Barca he had a team inherited by Rijkaard and the rise of Messi helped him a lot

have to disagree... strange as it may seem the situation was, 3 games against the same opponent in 10 days... city was finding it tough to get goals in 4-5 games prior to that 1st leg... debruyne, dinho, left-back injuries... history of conceding 3 goals in first legs of the last two quarters of CL... pep was sure of what he wanted, low scoreline, not much of chivalry and get back during second leg... he charted out the three lineups to face spurs for the three games... thats why sane was not seen in the two (except for last 2 mins), but will start on saturday... the 1st leg could be afforded to be drawn or even lost by a small margin... ofcourse the aguero penalty miss or an away goal are debatable topics, for me, pep's plan worked to an extent in the 1st leg...
laporte is one of the standout city performers this season... so, it was painful to see the 3 goals scored yesterday were because of him... the injury to kane sort of shook pep... with kane, you know how spurs are going to play, without him was something new... lucas moura being provided long balls was what pep thought and thats why kompany came in instead of stones... the problem was, laporte-kompany have played together just 3 of the 61 city games this season and so, a tandem between them was clearly missing...
its not bottling, on the contrary, he is thinking more than way required... defence was never his strong-point and that was what cost us the game yesterday... without kane, without winks, a half-fit delle, city played with a lot of grit to overcome 1-2 to 4-2 but still missed a huge opportunity to make it to the finals... no use complaining about aguero penalty miss in 1st leg, not scoring away goal, llorente hand-ball goal, sterling var offside... the only thing worth complaining is, you cannot afford to concede 3 goals on a cl night and still progress...
if anyone believes pep can win the cl only with barca or messi, i would call him stupid.
