Kaala is a quintessential Pa. Ranjith Cinema, but, with significant amount of Rajni's swag and masala.Kabali was Ranjith attempting to craft a Rajnikanth film, whereas Kaala is Rajnikanth starring in a Ranjith film, and this difference makes Kaala a much more refined cinema.Rajnikanth owns every moment on screen, his energy is unmatchable, and his portrayal of Kaala is absolutely potent.Despite limited screen time, Nana Patekar makes a daunting antagonist with his riveting performance.Kaala is not an outright commerical potboiler, but, a quality film with worthwhile entertainment.
To Conclude, Kaala is both a revolt and a revival ; It's a revolt against deceitful politics ; It's a revival of 'Rajnikanth the Actor'.
